• Lasting Power of Attorney

  In 1985 the Enduring Powers of Attorney Act made it possible to appoint a person of your own choice to administer your affairs in the event of mental incapacity. Remember, mental incapacity affects not only the elderly – premature dementia or an accident may have the same effect.

• Elderly clients

  We specialise in dealing with affairs of clients who can require ethical, considerate and confidential attention to often quite complex situations. For example, where they are asset rich and cash poor. We have the competence and sensitivity to consider all facets of our elderly clients’ problems to find effective solutions and to ensure their peace of mind.

• Living Wills

  A Living Will or an Advance Directive records your wishes concerning certain medical procedures, which are/are not to be employed on the event of loss of mental incapacity. Alternatively, a Living Will may record your beliefs on such procedures for the family to consider should a difficult decision with regard to your health have to be made (“Non-Directive Statement”).

• Inheritance Tax Planning

  When trying to minimise the Inheritance Tax payable on your Estate for your beneficiaries, there are many different options depending on the circumstances. Subject to your particular situation the size of your Estate and various other factors we shall provide you with advice on the appropriate options.

• Trusts

  A Trust is a fund which contains assets which are controlled by you and/or a nominated third party (“the Trustees”) for the benefit of a specific individual(s). Trusts are governed by complex legal regulations and separate Tax rules. A Trust may be set up any time during the lifetime of an individual or by way of a Will upon death.
